(Fish Stewed in Vinegar & Water Broth)
3 to 4 fresh mackerel, keep whole, you can also use milk fish
Half of a yellow onion, sliced or 4 stalks of green onions, chopped
2 - 3 cloves of garlic, sliced or chopped
4 cups water, or more if needed
½ cup coconut tuba vinegar
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Hot pepper, optional
1. After cleaning the mackerel, add the water and vinegar on a pan or shallow pot. Bring to a slow boil. Season the broth to your desired taste with the salt and black pepper. Add the onions and garlic.
2. Add in the mackerel. Allow to cook at a low boil and then simmer for about 10 minutes. Optional, if you like, toss in 1 or two whole bay leaves.
